The Ministry of Transportation (MTO) retained WSP to complete a separate Detail Design and Environmental Assessment (EA) Study for the following structural improvements as part of the Highway 417 Bridge and Structural Culvert Rehabilitations / Replacements Detail Design and EA study (GWP 4145-10-00), completed in May 2018. 

• Rehabilitation of the Innes Road Underpass with staged construction. One westbound lane and one eastbound lane will be closed during various stages of construction on Innes Road
• Rehabilitation and widening of the CNR Overhead Bridges with staged construction, maintaining two lanes of Highway 417 traffic in each direction. The Walkley Road Highway 417 eastbound on-ramp will be closed temporarily for one construction season.
• Rehabilitation of the Green’s Creek Culverts on Highway 417.
• Replacement of the Ramsayville Road Overpasses on a new alignment, including the realignment of approximately 2 km of Highway 417 and removal of the Ramsay Creek culvert. Isolated overnight full closures of Ramsayville Road are required during construction.

Due to on-going coordination with CNR and VIA Rail at the Highway 417 CNR Overhead Bridges, only construction contracts for the rehabilitation of the Innes Road Underpass and the replacement of the Ramsayville Road Overpasses (including the realignment of approximately 2 km of Highway 417 and removal of the Ramsay Creek culvert) have been tendered at this time. Construction at these structures began in Spring 2019.
