Highway 417 Bridge and Structural Culvert Rehabilitations / Replacements

 Project Background

Highway 417 Structures from Aviation Parkway to Ramsayville Road

In 2008, MTO completed a Preliminary Design and Environmental Assessment for Highway 417 from Highway 416 to Anderson Road. The study recommended an additional lane in each direction from Ottawa Road 174 easterly to Hunt Club Road (widening toward median). For more information on additional projects being undertaken along the Queensway please visit www.queenswayexpansioneast.com.

In 2016, MTO completed a Preliminary Design and Environmental Assessment Study for the rehabilitation and/or replacement of 15 bridges and 14 culverts along Highway 417 between the Aviation Parkway and Ramsayville Road (GWP 4074-11-00). The study identified Recommended Plans for rehabilitation or replacement to meet the long-term service requirements of the structures, and was documented in a Transportation Environmental Study Report (TESR).

The purpose of the current study is to prepare the detail design drawings and contract documents required for the replacement, rehabilitation (with widening), or removal of five (5) bridges and three (3) culverts along Highway 417 (GWP 4145-10-00), in the City of Ottawa.
